King Charles III, accompanied by his wife Queen Camilla, is making the most out of his trip to Australia. The royal couple embarked on their royal tour of the Land Down Under, as well as Samoa, and are making sure to engage with as many residents as possible—including the four-legged ones. While exploring the Australian capital of Canberra, Charles encountered an alpaca, and it had quite the greeting in store.
The monarch made his rounds among a crowd of more than 1,000 well-wishers at the Australian War Memorial, and was surprised to see one face in particular: a 9-year-old alpaca named Hephner dressed in his regal best. The fluffy white animal donned a navy blue suit with a white collared button-up, a bow tie, and a gold crown.

The animal, who was named after the Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, waited in line for hours, alongside his owner, Robert Fletcher, in anticipation of encountering the king.
“One king meets another king,” Fletcher told reporters.
When it was Hephner's turn to say hello, he sneezed on Charles just as he extended his hand to pat his head. The involuntary action took the king, and the rest of the crowd, completely by surprise. Though it was all in good fun, as Charles let out a laugh while he pulled his arm back.
"At least he didn’t spit," Fletcher joked.

Hephner is a bit of a celebrity in Canberra. Fletcher, who is from Goulburn, New South Wales, takes the support animal around to charities and nursing homes. He was granted permission to walk the Australian War Memorial for the chance to meet Charles.
This was not Charles's only unexpected encounter that day. After giving a speech to the Australian Parliament in Canberra, Lidia Thorpe, an Aboriginal Australian politician, jumped up and accused the monarchy of "genocide."
She went on to say, “Give us what you stole from us: our bones, our skulls, our babies, our people,” per videos from The Telegraph. "You destroyed our land, give us a treaty—we want a treaty, we want a treaty with this country."
She continued, “This is not your land. This is not your land. You are not my king. You are not our king.”
Charles was reportedly unfazed by the exchange. Buckingham Palace had no comment on the matter.
